Day 109/365: Seneca on voluntary generosity

Welcome to The Stoic Ledger, a daily money meditation from one of the Stoic sages.
109/365: Seneca on voluntary generosity
“Nothing is noble if it’s done unwillingly or under compulsion. Every noble deed is voluntary.” – Seneca
What good deeds do you presently do, not out of volunteered generosity, but felt obligation, compulsion, or external perception?
Noble deeds come from a very different place than those done from compulsion. So if you find yourself feigning generosity, instead of pulling the plug altogether, how can you shift to a vessel that feels right, a noble cause?
Cultivate raw generosity today. With your time, with your dollars, with your deeds.
