Day 110/365: Epictetus on progress

Welcome to The Stoic Ledger, a daily money meditation from one of the Stoic sages.
110/365: Epictetus on progress
“We don’t abandon our pursuits because we despair of ever perfecting them.” – Epictetus
Perfectionism is procrastination and abandonment. Giving up because it will never be good enough, or never starting because there’s no way to be perfect from the start.
Rather than staring at the blank page and trying to see the perfect story, write then edit.
Rather than never starting automatic investments because you’re determining the perfect cash flow strategy, start small then modify.
Rather than waiting for the perfect time, go now and realize that there is no right time, right environment, right circumstance, right life stage, right income, right mindset. It’s about progress and iteration. Iteration only comes after the the pursuit starts.
Progression is launching a cumulative campaign, stacking incremental gain on incremental gain.
